A long-time resident of Pierce County, REALTOR® Peter Filmer grew up in Tacoma, moved to Gig Harbor in 1985, and has lived there ever since! Peter is dedicated to opening doors around the Sound for his clients and is eager to serve them. Driven to do his best, he strives to go above and beyond for the buyers and sellers he works with, and believes they deserve nothing less than that.

After spending almost 15 years with Nordstrom in both sales and management, Peter decided to focus his customer service skills on selling real estate. He knows that buying a new home is one of the largest purchases of most people’s lives and is also a lifestyle decision for those who may live in their chosen home for a lifetime! Because of this, Peter feels that it’s absolutely critical to have great listening skills—he knows that he is guiding people through the process of not only purchasing a home, but he is also helping them to learn about the area and culture of the neighborhood. This includes so many things, including showing clients local schools, shopping opportunities, golf courses, marinas, gyms, and just the general community experience. Listening to clients enables him to help them ultimately choose the right area for their lifestyle needs and wants.

When Peter isn’t working with his clients, he enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible! Hiking, skiing, playing golf and just being out on the water boating are some of his favorite activities.

Q: What can clients expect when working with you?

A: The ability to be a great listener is the number one challenge to being a great REALTOR®. It takes a good ear to hear through the client’s thoughts, as well as what they actually are saying. I like the idea of making the process a fun experience as well as being focused on the myriad of details that make a home purchase transaction come together. My ultimate goal is for it to be a great experience from beginning to end!

Q: Tell us more about the kind of real estate you specialize in! What neighborhoods do you work in?

A: I have lived on the water in Gig Harbor for years now, and I love working with clients in this area. The experience of having the biggest backyard in the world is something that dozens of clients have come to experience through us working together! The Gig Harbor area is surrounded with water, and there are boat launches in that area within a 10-minute drive from just about anywhere here! The memories made spending time on the water are memories that will last a lifetime.

The North Tacoma area is also another favorite spot of mine to work in, and the historical areas here as well as the Proctor District are two of the most desirable areas to live in. Many people love the traditional style homes, city living and just the lifestyle in general here.
